Grand Island comes into the playoffs riding a six game winning streak. The Vikings lost their first three games this season but have rallied to move into the title game. Sweet Home, the state's defending Class A champion, brings a 22 game winning streak into the game.
The Vikings lost to Williamsville South, Hamburg and Sweet Home to start the season. To end the season they've beaten South and Hamburg and now take on the Panthers for the Section 6 Class A Championship.
The first game against Sweet Home was a wild affair. The Panthers won 51 to 30 so another shootout is possible. Grand Island turned its season around by cutting down the big mistakes, like turnovers.
Sweet Home runs an offense by "committee". They have great talented speed throughout their lineup. Its a balanced attackl led by quarterback Pat McMahon.
Its the third time these teams have met at the stadium. They have split the two games.
Sweet Home is ranked number one in New York State.
