North Tonawanda moved into the State semi-finals Saturday with a thrilling 26-24 win over Webster Schroeder from Section 5.
The Lumberjacks depth got a severe test as several key performers went down with injuries, but others notably Tom Sell really stepped up to help the Jacks remain unbeaten this season.
NT's Joe Montesantis carried 16 times for 148 yards. This is the farthest North Tonawanda has ever advanced in the State playoffs. Senior Tom Sell rushed 10 times for 131 yards and a pair of touchdowns, including a huge run in the fourth quarter, to help the Lumberjacks win their toughest test so far this season.
NT returns to Rochester next Saturday to play Baldwinsville from Section 3.
